What is Hypnosis?
is a state in which you have heightened focus and concentration where your capacity to respond to suggestions is enhanced. Hypnosis is a technique used to achieve a relaxing and enjoyable experience. It is a natural waking state of mind in which our body and conscious mind become relaxed and your subconscious mind is awakened.
Although the word “hypnosis” comes from the Greek word "Hypnos", meaning “sleep” a person in hypnosis is NOT in a state of sleep, but in a state of enhanced awareness. The person under hypnosis is in total control and aware of their surroundings.
Hypnosis has been found helpful in changing behavior, mindset, and focus when working with a certified professional toward predefined goals. It is important to know that although you’re more open to suggestions during hypnosis, you don’t lose control over your behavior.
What to expect:
Hypnosis sessions follow a certain structure. We begin with a conversation or interview, explain the process of hypnosis, and review your treatment goals. We want you to be comfortable and make sure you are relaxed and feel safe.
When you're in a receptive state, we will suggest ways for you to achieve your goals, such as reducing pain or eliminating cravings to smoke. Most people enjoy the experience of being guided through the positive and meaningful visualizations of accomplishing their goals and overcoming their burdens.
When the session is over, we will discuss your feelings and response to the hypnosis, as well as determine a program for you to fully achieve and maintain the effects of the session.
